Ram Jack west commercial case study

Foundation System Designed for Strict Seismic Requirements

Scope of work

Overview:Ram Jack West was contracted to provide a deep foundation solution for a project site facing poor soil conditions and strict seismic design requirements. Traditional foundation methods were not viable due to the subgrade instability and the structural demands specified by the Engineer of Record (EOR).

Challenge:The project required a foundation system that could perform reliably under seismic stress while accommodating the site's weak soil profile. Meeting both the geotechnical and structural criteria—without delaying the general contractor's schedule—was a key concern.

Solution:Ram Jack West designed and installed (390) 4" cased micro piles driven to a depth of 30 feet. A comprehensive verification load testing program was also implemented to confirm compliance with engineering specifications and provide performance assurance.

Results:The micro piles were installed to meet all design requirements outlined by the EOR and were completed on schedule, aligning with the general contractor’s timeline. This solution provided a stable, code-compliant foundation system that ensured structural integrity despite difficult site conditions.
